oldrtybastrd (1512), Morlautern, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany May 11, 2008 Pours a nice light golden yellow. Aromas of hops, grass, and maybe malt. Taste is crisp with a nice mellow hop flavor. This is one of the better low-alcohol beers on the market. BelgianBeerGal (978), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Sep 22, 2007 Bottle. Rather boring light. Pours a pale straw color with a small white head. Thin, watery mouthfeel but a little more flavor thatn typical lights. MiP (6029), Flensburg, Germany Mar 4, 2007 Bottle, 2.8%. OK citric aroma. Clear yellow colour, OK white head. Thin mouthfeel and flavour. Quite rough bitterness. Boring, but not bad considering ABV. frankenkitty (1798), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Mar 1, 2007 Light-hazed golden with a temperate effervesce and a white head that fades to a scummy film. Pale malt and sour green grapes in the aroma, a bit dusty. A hint of metallica starts the flavor that is otherwise smoothly malted, and there’s a mild, herbal bitterness to finish. Palate is dry and rather chalky. Tastes bigger than 2.8%, but not much.
Single 12 oz. bottle from Sal’s Beverage World, Elmhurst, IL 60126 raymondwave (797), Finland Jan 25, 2007 Bitburger is starting to be almost the favourite german pils for me, so I tried the low alc version. There is a bit of the same bite left, but just a little. It’s amazing how much a beer looses when you take a couple of % out. Not bad tho, just a little watery and a fraction of the nice hoppy afterburn of real Bitburger.
