hawthorne00 (15), Australia Nov 7, 2009 Very pale yellow. White head. Grass and yeast on the nose. Hops have a little floral tone and there is some lasting bitterness. A solid beer. jake65 (1657), Williston, North Dakota, USA Nov 4, 2009 Can: Very light yellow color with a large, creamy white head. Tons of sticky lacing bits. Strong aroma is malty, bready, and a little yeast. Doughy. Taste has some bite to it. Crisply floral up front with more bready notes and light yeast. Finishs decent enough. lithy (1600), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Nov 1, 2009 Clear yellow, puffy white head. Normal helles, grassy, husky grain aroma, crisp maltiness. Taste is lightly metallic, grassy, grain husks, light bitter finish and husks astringency. Nisse666 (289), Göteborg, Sweden Oct 27, 2009 Bottle 33 cl, 10 C, 2009-06-15r
AP: golden body, light head
AR: great malty aroma
F: great bitterness, a bit short and dry flavor
AF: long after bitterness. dryness Whorst (10), Huntington Beach, California, USA Oct 23, 2009 I find it incredibly drinkable and fabulous for washing down brats and sauerkraut. Aroma is a mix of sweet malt and noble hop. Body is light with a very nice bitter punch. Light, clean malt, then comes a solid bitter foundation. Hard to knock a beer this clean. Great palate cleanser for a variety of food. JoeAgain (16), New Jersey, USA Oct 23, 2009 Bit is a pilsner in the classic - albeit a little light - German Pils style.
Very light yellow, finely carbonated, with a white foamy head that lasts right through to the bottom. Appearance wise, this is as pretty as a beer gets!
Hops are evident in the nose, moreso than the malt. The body is light and smooth - very clean. Flavor is of fresh bread and lightly spicey hops.
Years ago, I was stationed in Southern Germany, where the beers of Munich, Stuttgart, and sometimes a pils from much further north would compete for the favors of the locals. Bit was one of them found frequently, and it was served with a somewhat "snobbish" appeal. I’m glad we have it here in the United States, and that it’s always in very good condition (some of the lighter German beers do not travel very well).
If you are a fan of German Pilsner beers, by all means, this one comes highly recommended. beercamel (81), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 18, 2009 Pours yellow golden, weak white head. Weak hops on the nose. The taste is metallic lager very german. Kind of sour and bitter. An okay lager. BarossaLuke (88), Australia Oct 16, 2009 Bottle. Clean refreshing German lager. Some light bready aroma, very clean hops and malt balance. I’d happily drink this over most aussie mega-lagers. Very nice at the end of working day.
