Commercial Description:
The classic Bitburger - a mature and most agreeable beer - is brewed with the best of ingredients in the same traditional way it has been for many, many years. The result is delicately tart and pleasantly bitter - with a strong hop taste.

No real aroma other than a slight alcohol and grain smell. Pours a slightly cloudy/golden color with no head or lacing. Taste is nothing special just a slight taste of grains and hops.

500 mL Can. Clear straw body with a frothy white head that settles to a thin foamy layer lacing the sides of the glass. Aroma is sweet malt, grains, grassy hops, and subtle notes of lemon peel and pine. Flavor is sweet malt and grassy hops, the hops expressing most strongly in the aftertaste with a hint of honey followed by a clean finish. Bitte, mehr Bit :D

I tried this beer on August 18, 2008 after purchasing from one of my local LCBO outlets. The bveer poured a translucent pale gold with a generous white rocky head that quickly dissipated. The aroma was grainy malts with some hops. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, and mildly carbonated. The flavour was more grainy malt with a bitter hop finish. Easy to drink, but not memorable.

Bottle. Nothing special, just another european pilsener. Decent hops aroma and flavor into a clean finish. Still far better than American Pilsners

Nicely carbed, hoppy, tastes like beer from Germany, not as good as I remember. Straw pour, beery somewhat metallic aroma.

Like smelling water, there was little to detect in aroma. After my third pass, I think I noted some hop. With a beautiful golden color, Bitburger Pils on tap is crystal clear. However, there was no head to evaluate, nor was there any beading of carbonation. So, there was no lace. Surprisingly, the flavor was clean and crisp, yet it was almost "round" like an ale. I would prefer some more hop to round out the taste. The carbonation of the beer was good, like a pilsner should be. The beer was light, but not watery. In summary, this was an okay brew--no harm, no foul. An innocent beer that would offend very few.
