Commercial Description:
The classic Bitburger - a mature and most agreeable beer - is brewed with the best of ingredients in the same traditional way it has been for many, many years. The result is delicately tart and pleasantly bitter - with a strong hop taste.

On tap. A good German Pilsner. Watery golden appearance (very watery looking). No lasting head. Not too yeasty. Enjoyable, crisp finish. Everything in this beer seems to be downplayed. I am just wanting a little more of every element that it offers. Not quite strong or present enough for me. As it warms, the aroma and taste do become more developed, but still nothing too special about it. Although I wasn’t very impressed by this beer, I really enjoyed drinking it.

Bottle. Pours clear golden with a big sudsy off white head and large soda like carbonation. Aroma of pale malts, spicy hops, and very slight skunk. Light bodied, but without a watery texture. Flavor of european pale malts, sweet white bread, and spicy hops. Typical clean lager finish. This is actually not too bad for a mass produced Pilsner. I am rather surprised by the low rating. Perhaps some people need to try this in a blind tasting.

Found it quite watery and lack luster in flavour. Can barely taste any hops, almost no aroma, very generic. There are a lot of better pilsners from Germany

Gold pour, little head. Smell is light malt, hops and a touch of yeast. Crisp, refreshing, fairly light. A nice little bite, some breadiness and yeastiness. Not bad, but a bit doughy for a pilsner for my taste.

Medium, creamy, white head rests atop a clear, straw-hued body and recedes with some expediency. Grassy and herbal (thyme?) hops are at the forefront of a lightly powerful aroma, followed by a malty aroma of grains, white bread and dried semolina pasta. There just a touch of very light honey, as well. Hm, and some DMS appears as the beer warms. Lightly sweet, toasted malt initial flavour develops into a lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter grassy, herbal finish. Light to medium bodied with a soft, watery texture and lively carbonation. 50cl can, Duvel tulip, bbe 6/6/08.

Found this very watery. The bitter hops while detectable were extremely watered-down. Probably won’t try this again as there is plenty of other pilseners.

Very pale color, Strong Hop finish. You classic German Pilsner I believe this beer was also the first German Beer to use the term pilsner.

Bottle. Medium gold color with white head that fades quickly. Aromas of grass, metal, and sweet light malt. Flavor is mildly sweet malt with a nice bitterness on the finish, faint twinge of metal throughout. Lively carbonation, refreshing, and tasty. I’m pretty sure the mercury is reading like 185F, so this hits the spot.
