Commercial Description:
The classic Bitburger - a mature and most agreeable beer - is brewed with the best of ingredients in the same traditional way it has been for many, many years. The result is delicately tart and pleasantly bitter - with a strong hop taste.

Bottled. Clear pale golden, brief head. Grassy hops dominate the nose. Dry with bready malt, but some syrup comes through and spoils the party. Light bodied with rather mellow mouthfeel. Pleasant salty bitter finish. Feels like a good pils with too short lagering time.,

Bottle -- Pours with a sudsy head that soon diminishes and a clear gold colour. Some lacing. Aroma is subtle: hoppy with grapefruit. Mouthfeel is thin and a little watery. Subtle flavour of hops. Watery finish. OK beer for a hot day but lacks any real oomph.

This is a very soft and clean beer. Has a real hoppy finish. This beer is one of my favourites especially draught.

Pours bright pale yellow w/ a medium semi creamy froth that is spattered loosely leaving a very nice lace. Aroma is grainy w/ cisp malts. Light to medium nectar w/ ample residual effers. Flavors are bright and clean w/ a defined crispness. Very refreshing. No offesive flavors. The finsh is clean w/ crisp bittering of the asprin sort. Very nice. Perfect summer brew. Highly recommended.

This reminds me more of a "high end" BMC lager than a European Pilsner. Poured to a light golden color, with thin white head that lingered shortly, and left little lacing. Both aroma and flavor were almost nil, and mouthfeel was somewhat flat. The only decent thing about this was the finish, which was actually thirst quenching, and made this a drinkable beer that would probably be a decent session beer.....as long as it is served coId enough.

12 oz bottle

This was a freebie left over from someone’s party. I am willing to try most anything if it is free, but I know now why this is $5.99 a six pack. It has neither a bitter taste or any hop profile despite letting it warm a bit. Perhaps the secret is to drink it ice cold out of the bottle. Don’t buy this one but if you are ever offered one it might be worth a taste just to find out a baseline for mediocrity.

Aroma / Appearance - Try as I might I was unable to pick up anything in the nose other than the smell of whole wheat Cheerios. It was dead, lifeless and bland. If I had to sum it up in one word that would be ’inoffensive’. The appearance was very watery. 95% of the light filtered through this very pale pilsener.

Flavor / Palate - Safe might be the best way to describe the experience of finishing off this beer. The maltiness was present but faint as was the bitterness. It was almost like somebody had taken one part Victory Prima Pils and one part water then bottled. It is on par with the house offerings from Brennan’s which is not much of a compliment. It is hard to find anything bad to say about it however since it would have to have some offensive flavors. This is the textbook definition of blandness and mediocrity in my book.

Bottle from Hy-Vee poured into flute - Pours pale gold with a fizzy head that barely even exists; A little malt and maybe a hop? to the nose; A little grass on the initial taste; Same on the aftertaste; medium watery body; Decent carbonation; Tasted like carbonated water with a hop thrown in as an afterthought. Not offensive at all, but also lacking any character or complexity. Wasted a spot in my mix-six for this.
