Commercial Description:
The classic Bitburger - a mature and most agreeable beer - is brewed with the best of ingredients in the same traditional way it has been for many, many years. The result is delicately tart and pleasantly bitter - with a strong hop taste.

250ml draught at The Jerusalem Tavern. Pale yellow. Small white head. Weak aroma of sweet malt. Blend of malt and sweet hops in flavour. Refreshing but too sweet and overcarbonated (20.09.2006).

Decent amount of hops in both aroma and flavor. Golden color with more head than expected. Grain flavor in background.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden with a thick white head. Aroma of malt and light hops. Crisp hop flavor. Very drinkable.

Found myself enjoying this to varying degrees during world cup in Germany, as it was all over the place. Enjoyed sometimes, but mostly a disappointment - seemed a fair bit going on with the nose, but taste a tad too sparse and dry for my liking. That combined with an overly bitter finish didn’t generally make me look forward to more.

Can and bottle. Bottle comes out on top, however this one is rated from the can. Pours a clearish golden yellow with a moderate, foamy head that dissaptes quickly. Very malty aroma, fairly light mouthfeel, but has a distinct car exhaust aftertaste that you can both smell and taste towards the end. This however I did not notice in the bottle, so stay from the can.

On tap at Wildeman. Last of 4 sampled over 30 minutes. A great pilsener. Goes down very well. It’s got a big head, foamy and has a nice kick to it. Quality pils.
