Commercial Description:
The classic Bitburger - a mature and most agreeable beer - is brewed with the best of ingredients in the same traditional way it has been for many, many years. The result is delicately tart and pleasantly bitter - with a strong hop taste.

Can and bottle. Bottle comes out on top, however this one is rated from the can. Pours a clearish golden yellow with a moderate, foamy head that dissaptes quickly. Very malty aroma, fairly light mouthfeel, but has a distinct car exhaust aftertaste that you can both smell and taste towards the end. This however I did not notice in the bottle, so stay from the can.

On tap at Wildeman. Last of 4 sampled over 30 minutes. A great pilsener. Goes down very well. It’s got a big head, foamy and has a nice kick to it. Quality pils.

Draught at Hotel Plaza, Forchheim: Straw coloured with a thick white head and farily still, but not flat.Floral aroma, strong hoppy taste, with longlasting aftertaste. An excellent Pils.

Spritzy pale gold body sniffing of spicy hops. Some woody herbal notes in the nose. A beautifully rounded combination of soft ,bready malt and crisp hop bitterness. Sets the benchmark for quality Pils. (Rerate, 06/03/08) What?? Unremarkable soapy pils with loads of grassy/coniferous hops (Saaz?), but not much else. Loved it whenever I’ve tried it on tap in Germany, mind...

Pale golden, quite decent white head. Malty, small notes of of hay in aroma. Quite malty in flavour as well, with some hints of lead & grass. Very clean.

Best to drink fresh and draft (in Germany). In a can in the U.S. it offers a bitter aftertaste. While there are other German beers I might prefer on tap in Germany this one is very satisfying as a true German lager in the Eifel region.

Pours a delightful gold colour with a thin white head. The smell is of hops and almost a spicy bread smell. The taste is very hoppy with a slight spice. A thin mouthfeel with an aftertaste of nothing but hops. Good beer to share with a german friend or two! :-)

starts off slightly sweet and ok. Then it has a terrible bitter taste and finishes skuky like heineken. Its not good.
