Pours a clearish golden yellow with a moderate, foamy head that dissaptes quickly. Very malty aroma, fairly light mouthfeel, but has a distinct car exhaust aftertaste that you can both smell and taste towards the end. This however I did not notice in the bottle, so stay from the can. altonbrownd (1957), Amsterdam, Netherlands

It’s got a big head, foamy and has a nice kick to it. Quality pils. berkshirejohn (1831), Bracknell, Berkshire, England

Some woody herbal notes in the nose. A beautifully rounded combination of soft ,bready malt and crisp hop bitterness. Sets the benchmark for quality Pils. (Rerate, 06/03/08) What?? Unremarkable soapy pils with loads of grassy/coniferous hops (Saaz?), but not much else. Loved it whenever I’ve tried it on tap in Germany, mind... hammenlind (738), Sundbyberg, Sweden

Quite malty in flavour as well, with some hints of lead & grass. Very clean. gregkitzmiller (6), USA does not count | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 31, 2006 Best to drink fresh and draft (in Germany). In a can in the U.S. it offers a bitter aftertaste. While there are other German beers I might prefer on tap in Germany this one is very satisfying as a true German lager in the Eifel region. yarry (370), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 20, 2006 Pours a delightful gold colour with a thin white head. The smell is of hops and almost a spicy bread smell. The taste is very hoppy with a slight spice. A thin mouthfeel with an aftertaste of nothing but hops.
Good beer to share with a german friend or two! :-) fidemaster (172), USA
