| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 4, 2005 Bottle: Dull dirty yellow, extremely cloudy, large rocky off-white head, nice lacing, very light carbonation. Soft hop aroma, moreso malty/grainy on the nose, slight appleskin, hint of caramel. Also seems somewhat organic and/or earthy. Not as fresh, floral, or citrusy smelling as other IPAs. Clean, yet soft, hop flavor. Underlying grainyness, with appleskin that lingers beyond the finish. Still seems organic, or at least somewhat earthy. Could stand to be a bit sharper, more floral, and/or more citrusy. Average body and mouthfeel. Not bad, but not refreshing for an IPA.   Perhaps the fact that its brewed in the "traditional English style" is the problem?   Just not assertive enough for my tastes I guess.

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 27, 2004 From growler, 06/03. Pours opaque orange/gold, average sized though brainy head. There seems to be little aroma at all to this beer - some white sugar, wet looseleaf paper, pine trees in summer. The flavor smacks of pine, grapefruit, simple syrup. Slightly cloying maltiness from middle to back is hiding an underlying earthiness and taking the edge off the hops. Not a spectacular beer, maybe better from the tap or a bomber. redlem (1155), Illinois, USA

Light mix of citrus and pine, some soapiness. Medium bitterness, citrus notes, slightly dry finish. An English style IPA that is flavorful but not over the top, very enjoyable.
