Jun 18, 2008 Aggressive pour displayed a thin eggshell head sitting atop a thin brown beer. Not much to describe. Both the nose and flavor were unpleasantly sweet. Unfortunately, there is also a sour quality in the finish that lingers.

May 28, 2008 Appearance: Pours a dark brown body with a bubbly, thin, off-white head.
Smell: Dark malt aroma with a note of fruit syrup and a slight smokiness.
Taste: Dark maltiness with a chocolate taste and medium sweetness. Hmm. There’s an odd, tart fruitiness that’s somewhat off-putting. Finishes sweetish and questionably fruity.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Not so good; an indefensible porter.

May 24, 2008 Pours a transparent dark mahogany with a wispy-lacing tan head. Aroma of dry smoky malts with some roasty notes. Body starts lightly sweet and thinner with a hint of tartness and smoky character before a watery semi-tart light fruity finish. Needs more body and sweetness.

Apr 29, 2008 Aroma of light coffee and a hint of toasted malt. Dark brown with hints of red. Flavor is toasted as well light hints of coffee and a light bitter. A bit thin and foamy for me. Not a bad porter at all but not real special. I would drink it again.

Apr 15, 2008 Bottle at the April Get Together. Pours brilliant dark ruby with big beige head. The aroma is rich caramel and molasses with some toffee and chocolate. The flavor is coffee, some burned notes. A bit of caramel sweetness is in there, as well as some grainy sourness, which leaves a somewhat tangy aftertaste.
