Draught at the brewpub: Dark muddy brown/black. Nose of light sweet chocolate roast. The flavor is nice and balanced, highly minerally but it balances the roast and comes across chewy and full bodied.

The beer after departing the 22 ounce brown bottle sits in the dimpled Raven mug a deep brown to black with some ruby high lights, the head is Brontosauric in size, the color a winsome tan and the consistency creamy, as it ever so slowly dissipates the lace forms a thick and sticky sheet to cover the glass. Nose is sweet, hints of toasted gain, fresh and pleasant to the senses, start is sweet, the malt profile decent and the top middling in feel. Finish is astringent, the hops mild and pleasant to the palate, dry and lingering aftertaste, a nice mild porter and well worth a sample.

(22oz bottle) Clear brown-black body with medium beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, coffee, smoke. Taste is medium sweet, smoke, coffee, some chocolate. Watery light-medium body, really drinkable. Nothing fancy, but does just what it sets out to do.

This poured a black apperance with a beige head. The flavor contains malted milk balls, chocolate, and coffee. The flavor contained the same. The malted milk ball flavor was rather interesting. The palate was a bit thin for a porter but still a nice beer.

Bottle courtesy of kyzr. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Smells of roasted malt, raisins, molasses, brown sugar. Tastes of roasted malt, pepper, some nice bitterness on the finish.

Bomber. Pours translucent blackish brown with a lacy tan head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, coffee. Medium-light body and carbonation. Chocolate taste, crisp and smoky (peaty?) finish.

Just watched Legends of the Fall for the first time. A little late, but nonetheless, I decided what better way to celebrate watching a great movie, than to drink a beer from that state. That being said... Bottle from kyzr. Pours dark brown with a decent cream colored head and nice lacing. Aroma of light roast, chocolate, and butter. Perhaps a little smoke. Pretty smokey with nice roast. The smoke is pretty dominant but not over the top. I didnt get the buttery flavor that I expected from the aroma. Medium bodied with a lingering smokey effect. Medium carbonation. A nice porter.

Received a 22-oz bomber from kyzr via in-person trade. Pours a near-opaque dark brown colored brew with a fast dissipating beige head. Aroma of roasted dark malt, a hint of chocolate, coffee and even a little smoke. Taste is medium bodied, flavors of roasted dark malt, coffee, a little chocolate malt and floral hops. Finish has a quick mild bitterness that leaves behind some toasted dark malt aftertaste.
