FlacoAlto (2473), Tucson, Arizona, USA Sep 17, 2005 Updated: Sep 26, 2005The beer sits a clear red color in the pint glass and is topped by a wispy, thin, pale tan colored head. The aroma is fruity and light with notes of cherry and a light dusting of malt character. The beer is sweet up front and slightly spicy through to the finish. Unfortunately the beer has been served way to cold (why do even brewpubs do this), which really thins the beer out. The beer is well carbonated, perhaps a bit gassy even. As it warms up a bit of fruitiness comes to the fore with notes of cherry. There is a nice bitterness that carries through from beginning to end. A fruity herbal note is here from the hops, a definite characteristic of a good Alt. This is actually a decent example of the style. It is clean and crisp, yet still fruity with a hop presence.
