I enjoyed this beer. Poured a somewhat light dark color with somewhat offwhite head...decient retention. I expected it to have more of a dark roast profile but the beer turned out pretty good. Nice mouth fill without being overly carbonated.

Tampa, FL Citrus Park Mall location. Caramel brown body with virtually no head. Not even much of a collection of bubbles or foam. Very still in appearance. Nose is sort of muted, caramel and toffee, biscuit dough and not much else. Big dough notes and caramel/toffee, with some candy sugar sweetness. Pleasing on the palate, thin-medium full. Finish is caramel, candied sugars and some doughiness. Not bad.

This bock was a bit surprising. It was reddish brown in color, small head, and a pleasant aroma. The flavor was not to nutty or malty so it was good. It had good balanced malt flavor, and not taste or burnt, roasted, malt, which is common in worse bocks.

11-21-07 tap.
Watery amber color with some head and lacing. Smells like burning sugar - hints of caramel. Flavor is there (although only slightly of course) but it is light and watery. Slightly fruity aroma. Highly metallic in the finish.

Copper pour and clear. No head. Mild nutty and dusty chocolate like nose to it. Some cocoa powder as well. Taste is slightly creamy, yet slightly chalky. Flavor is thin, and mild, yet refreshing, and some cocoa I thought. Unlike any other heller bock I’ve had, but actually more enjoyable for me although probably not very representative of the style. Simple, thin and drinkable, but not offensive.

Draft at Orlando BJ’s. Clear, dark reddish-amber body. A wispy, grayish looking film sits atop this brew. No lacing. The aroma is on the faint side, requiring a deep inhalation to really pick up anything. Once you get it, the aroma shows sweet caramel, dark raisons, and a bit of wheat. The flavor is again very sweet, with caramel and dark fruits showing strong, with the faintest touch of chocolate malt. Virtually zero hop presence. This one is all malt. Medium bodied, with a lively mouthfeel. Short, sweet finish. Decent at best.

This beer was very smooooth. The after taste was clean. the color was not to thick. and the head held its own. Good times wit the bock.

Tap @ Dallas BJ’s: Clear mahogany with a lovely off-white head & sticky lacing. Sweet aromas abound. The feel is thick and smooth like a baby’s butt when it comes to beer. It leaves a great taste of bitter chocolate.
