CaptainCougar (5379), Rockville, Maryland, USA Apr 15, 2007 On cask at the 10th Annual San Diego Strong Ale Festival: Pours a deep golden bronze with a small airy white head. Sweet caramel candy corn malty aroma has a touch of orange citrusy hops. Starts with a sweet sugary maltiness getting slightly toastier toward the thinner, slightly warming finish. Could use some more balance, but still a decent barleywine. goldtwins (4079), Nesconset, New York, USA Feb 7, 2007 10th Annual SD Strong Ale Fest: Cask Poured a lightly hazy amber color with a typical cask head. Off-white head. The aroma was doughy with light fruity notes. Malty and fruity flavor mixed with light citrus and a hoppy bitter finish. The malt had nice aged notes on it.
