undsioux7 (458), Cologne, Minnesota, USA Feb 19, 2007 bjs in boulder. I am assuming that this is the harpoon ipa, so my review is for that one here. I really enjoyed this one. If you go to a bjs, hope that this is one of the special beers they have on tap at the time. trokini (813), San Diego, California, USA Jul 5, 2005 Updated: Aug 24, 2005I always order this (if available) or the Tatonka stout when I go. Rather smooth for an Imperial IPA. Hops are obvious, but are mellowed with some citrus flavors. A very good IPA, but it really can’t be compared to the Ruination or YuleSmith offerings. I would still definitely drink this again. Ale_Drinker (1049), Sunnyvale, California, USA Sep 25, 2004 Updated: Sep 26, 2004Pours dark amber color with thick white head. This was a decent IIPA. Nice strong citrus hoppy aroma. Flavor is plenty bitter, lots of citrus, and plenty of malt and alcohol to back the hops. I always enjoy an IIPA leitrim65 (395), Seattle, Washington, USA May 30, 2004 Updated: May 31, 2004On tap at the BJ’s Portland, OR location. Pours a deep golden color. The aroma is lacking but the little I managed to pick up is hops, with some citrus undertones. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by this beer. Yes, there is a heavy presence of hops throughout this beer. However, the hops aren’t overpowering. This is a well balanced hoppy beer. The finish leaves a tingling of hops long after the last sip. bigbeersrule (52), USA Jan 30, 2004 This beer is one of the new fangled over the top IPA's. I love big beers but this beer is not balanced unless you want to be a total hop freak. The regular IPA is more balanced and drinkable but if you want to have hops growing out of different parts of your body after you drink it than you need to try it.
