Honey-red pour leaving a few spots of lacing. Very mild hop profile balanced with moderate maltiness. Easily sessionable, but also nothing to call home aboot. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 27, 2009 On tap in CInci. Pours a light golden orange with a medium frothy white head. Aroma is a nice blend of mostly piney hops and soft caramel and pale malt characters. Unfortunately the hops don’t seem as fresh as they could be. Flavors are much the same, a large caramel sweetness balanced by a subtle hop character that seems a little stale. Finishes sweet with just a tiny bitterness. Medium body and a softer carbonation. Not sure if I agree with the "for hopheads only" slogan, but a so so pale ale. alexsdad06 (1120), Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 21, 2009 Draught sample at BJ’s Cincinnati. Pours a lIght golden amber color with a small, dense off-white crown. Nice lacing. Aroma is grapefruit citrus zest with some underlying moderately sweet maltiness. Fairly hoppy, surprisingly so . The dry-hopping is evident in the flavor. The bitter is mild, but enough to give some character. Decent caramel malt presence in the flavor as well. Medium body, smooth. One of the better beers I have had here. SamGamgee (1469), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 16, 2009 Draught at BJs San Jose. Probably the best beer at BJs, and a pretty nice APA overall, though definitely not exceptional. Gold color with a sticky white head. The nose is mostly mineral water and c hops with a touch of bread. Crisp pale malt flavors with firm grapefruit and pine bitterness in the finish. Lightly fruity and pretty dry. Light bodied with crisp carbonation. Still kinda meh, but it would be my first choice on a repeat visit, barring an interesting seasonal. 22415brewery (67), redmond, Washington, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 12, 2009 Definite Cascade aroma and flavor, finishes a touch sweeter than most APAs. Light caramel sweetness and bright citrus/pine hop character is followed up with a smooth bittering making this APA easy to drink and slightly more malt forward than other pale ales. I would love to see what the addition of more hops could do for this beer. daknole (3031), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 5, 2009 Wedding band gold color. White head. Lots of lacing. Hops are evident in the nose with some honey and light caramel. Flavor is clean and hoppy. Citrus and floral hops with a light malt profile. patrick767 (2052), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 21, 2009 tap at Boulder brewpub - This brew smells of citrus accented hops and a touch of caramel. It has a pretty mild flavor profile with the usual caramel malt and hops of a pale ale It’s not bad, but not all that great either.
