Commercial Description:
This robust dark ale is surprisingly smooth and drinkable. Caramel, molasses and chocolate flavors fill the palate. Its sweet start is perfectly balanced by a roasted dry finish.

[At BJ’s in Boulder, Colorado] A red-brown beer with a small beige head. The aroma is slightly roasted and the flavor is sweet with notes of caramel as well as hints of roasted malt. The body is thin. A slightly boring beer.

Sampled draught at BJ’s, Burbank, CA.
Dark brown. Roasty and very chocolatey. Dryish and medium bodied with soft, gentle mouthfeel. Some molasses are there. Really salty finish.

(Pinellas Park) Creamy beige head atop crystal clear mahogany body. Aroma is moderately sweet, cappuccino , molasses. Taste is moderately sweet, molasses, roast, some chocolate. Light-medium body, low carbonation. A bit sweet for my liking, but still decent.

Draught at the brewpub, Plano TX
Dark brown color; persistent thin head. Some roasted malt aroma and taste, with caramel taste as well; sweeter and less biting than the Bock (which is a Stout), brewed less well, still drinkable.
