I have always said that BJ’s is the best brewery mega-chain out there. This IPA isn’t going to convert the average beer nerd, but this is a solid IPA that can also appeal to the masses.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 21, 2009 tap from the Boulder brewpub - Pours lightly hazy copper with a nicely lacing head. There’s a very good grapefruit accented hop aroma. The flavor has more of those good, crisp citrus hops and a solid malt balance. It’s medium bodied and overall an enjoyable IPA, definitely the best of the sampler I had. Tmoney99 (4778), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Poured a hazy copper color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with excellnet lacing. Moderate to heavy complex earthy citrus hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration.
This is a good beer. bb (2930), Martinez, California, USA

Poured a copper color and you could smell the hops from the glass. Very drinkable for an IPA. Not overly hopped and smooth on the palate. Pretty good brew!! BeerBelcher (943), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 22, 2009 I thought this wasn’t bad. I visit BJ’s on occasion more for the food than the beer, but found this beer to be totally satisfactory. It looks, tastes and feels more-or-less like a decent IPA should. It had a persistent head which stuck around, a citrus-y and bitter favor, and an OK mouthfeel.
This beer was pretty good, but also was distinct from the best-of-class IPAs I’ve scored higher. It didn’t have the robust malt structure to match the nice hoppiness it had. Its mouthfeel was a little thin. And the bitterness was a bit one-dimensional.
Still, pretty good. I’d have this again. I had it at the Columbus (OH) Bj’s. LtDan (520), Los Angeles County, California, USA
