Aroma of sweet toasty dark caramel and roasted malts with a hint of light fruits. Body starts effervescent and lightly sweet with some milk chocolatey notes before a drier toasty finish. A good stout. argo0 (6907), Washington DC, USA

Pours a dark cola color; huge, textured light tan head with good retention and foamy lacing. Lots of chocolate (milk, mostly), soft vanilla and cocoa in the aroma. Medium mouthfeel: lively carbonation, almost fizzy; lots of cocoa and nougat; chewy dark chocolate notes; reasonably toasty, chocolate-forward stuff, if a bit fizzy. Medium finish: cocoa, dark chocolate, and toasty malts; ends slightly dry, chalky. jason (1623), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA

Dry-hopped and bitter. Slightly coffee and finished with astringencies. Decent beer English in nature from the land of New England. bfeldmann (1042), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Oct 3, 2007 Poured a dark brown with good head and okay lacing. Aroma was much like a port lots of nuttyness and chocolate. Flavor was mostly burnt malts not much there. Mouthfeel was very wattery. Not a good one. kramer (2465), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Sep 21, 2007 22 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark brown under a fluffy billowy brown head that left lots of lacing as it receded. The nose is more Porter like than Stout with lots of chocolate and some nutty grains. Light roast and burnt notes with some boiled peanuts and licorice. The flavor is way too acrid and burnt with zero malt complexity. Finishes with some chalk and sweet cola notes and minimal hops. Mouthfeel is thinnish and watery in texture with moderate fizzy carbonation. Overall, this was not good. This really needs alot more depth and complexity.
