Pours a dark cola color; huge, textured light tan head with good retention and foamy lacing. Lots of chocolate (milk, mostly), soft vanilla and cocoa in the aroma. Medium mouthfeel: lively carbonation, almost fizzy; lots of cocoa and nougat; chewy dark chocolate notes; reasonably toasty, chocolate-forward stuff, if a bit fizzy. Medium finish: cocoa, dark chocolate, and toasty malts; ends slightly dry, chalky. Angeloregon (1867), Portland, Oregon, USA Oct 29, 2007 Poured a shiny black-brown body symbolic of this beer’s namesake. Mild off-white-tan head. Dry-hopped and bitter. Slightly coffee and finished with astringencies. Decent beer English in nature from the land of New England.
