Bottle picked up from Oxford Beer Festival, foreign beer stand 16-10-08 , consumed 18-10-08 Poured dark brown with a light beige head. Found this too be a bit sweet and heavy, lacks any bitterness, at times I got a hint of Christmas, it wasn’t bad and grew on me a little.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and bread, leading to a dry dusty finish.

500 ml bottle. Black wiht ruby red hues. Small light beige fine-laced head. Subdued mellow roasted malt aroma. Acidic with flavours of blood/iron. Rather thin bodied. Normal carbonation level. There is clearly a minor infection in this beer as it gets more acidic in the flavour as it heats up. Aroma is normal, but flavourwise it is unbalanced.

Bottle: Black colour, cremy brown head. Aroma of iron, lots of malts and som citric, sournes alcy ending. Flavor is the same, thin boody, meltalic mouth feeling, some bread, but this was nnot the best Black Boss, they made, the stronge one was on a diffrent level.

Bottle. Reddish brown color with a creamy fast shrinking head. Aroma: Roasted and sweet with notes of chocolate, licorice and coffee. Flavor: Sweet and lightly roasted, not very bitter. Notes of caramel, chocolate, sugar, licorice, and sweet coffee. Medium bodied. Maybe a bit too much on the sweet side, but not bad.

500 ml bottle. Tan mediumsized head with big bubbles. Good lacework. Translucent, dark brown body. Sweet dark malts, sweet dark fruits and mild coffee in the aroma. Sugary malt flavor. Coffee and chocolate notes. A little roastiness and even less bitterness. Light to medium body, thin considering the strenght. Sugary-watery mouthfeel. Sugar and some roast in the finish. Not as sweet as his big brother, still too sugary for my tastebuds.

Bottled:
Deep ruby red with a firm but fast sinking head. Sweet liquorice aroma. Smooth and round mouth feel. Quite sweet with medium roastiness. The alcohol gives it a somewhat harsh finish. A simple and quite quaff-able porter.
