Bottle: Clear, ruby-amber coloured, almost no head; quite solid sweet fruity nose (dried berries and molasses included); robust sweet flavour with a very delicate bitterness, full bodied - what else; increasing sweetness in the caramelly finish, followed by a light touch of balsamico and a little bitterness in the aftertaste. Way too sweet......

Bottle from Beers of Europe, consumed 20-12-09 Pours black with a wonderful beige head standing proudly on top. The aroma is a little bitter toffee with roasted notes and coffee also showing. Really tasty porter with nice tangy edge. The coffee also shows in the mouth, there is a pleasant warmth from the alcohol and a light bitterness ripples across the tongue. Some dark sugars also show to complete matters, its a nice beer. A7 A5 F7 P4 Ov14 3.7

Bottle, 8.5%. Vinous and dusty aroma. Clear very dark brown colour. Big stable bubbly light brown head. The flavour has some sweet liquorice at first. Turns rather creamy and finishes a tad more roasted. This is one of the few beer styles where I can live with a little oxidation, but this is enough.

Pours a three finger light tan head that fades slowly, leaving a good lace. Black color no highlights. Light-medium carbonation and medium-heavy bodied. Sweet roasted caramel nose. Flavor is sweet roasted caramel with just the right amount of hops. Really good porter. Good price at $1.69 for a 500ml bottle from Manchester Wine and Liquors Manchester, CT.

Bottle under the "Czarny Boss" label. I can tell right away that this is going to be a "controversial" beer. Poured into a snifter: very black. with very thin off-white head. A very pruny beer. Prune is heavy in the nose and taste and liquorish notes too. Caramel malts and a little toffee in there. Smoky and finishes not that bitter. I’m a fan, but I’m weird and I like prune. This beer isn’t for everyone.

Bottled 500ml. -Black coloured, small pale beige head, buttery caramel nose. Roasted malt, caramel and burnt sugar with strong licorice presence. Some fruity chocolate notes in the finish. Not so good and a way too sweet porter.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Clear. Caramel, walnuts and hazelnuts in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with toffee and walnuts. Hint of roast. Sweet but delicious. Walnut aftertaste. Sticky mouthfeel.

A dark brown colored beer, with a thick beige head. The aroma of dark caramel with coffee candy. It’s sweet with a very little bitter. The taste of chcocolate malt with sweet and flavors of expresso. Notes of bitter. The aftertaste is bittersweet with a little chocolate, moving over to caramel sweet.
