Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear black with a reddish hue and a beige head. Hard roasted malt, tar and wood - appears very well matured. Solid burned malts and black licorice and again a woody and sweet edge. Subdued bitterness. Delicious. 130809

Bottled. A deep red beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, metal, roasted malt, and oxidation. The flavor has notes of alcohol, metal, and oxidation. I don’t like it - too alcoholic.

50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is solid roasted breadish malt with a distinct alcohol note. Solid liqourice roasted malt flavoured. Vague metallic and lingering sweet liqourice finish with a persisting roasted flavour.

Czarny Boss Baltic Porter, in bottle at GBBF 2009. Looks great - black-brown with a brown head and a nice nose that gives black treacle, hints of port and smoke, a slight sourness. On the tongue there are raisin and burnt apple notes, but it is over-sweet, the finish too is cloying which detracts from the attractive smoky dryness.

bottle, traded with Wiking. Deep black colour, small but creamy beige head. Aroma of roasetd malts, caramel and coffee. Full-bodied, very smooth and velvety, full of intensive flavours of caramel, coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa powder, raisins and prunes. A very complex and delicious beer.

500ml bottle from GBBF. Deep reddy brown / black. Horlicks (milk & malt) and stollen cake then spicy raisin on the tongue. Great smooth and rich palate.
