Bottle - Hoopers. Aroma of fruity, roasted and choclate and coffee notes. pours a dark brown coloured beer with a small beige head. Soft mouthfeel, some carbonation. Sweet, hoppy, lots of vinous notes and some alcohol but tempered. Nicely balanced.

finally scored a bottle of this...rich brown/garnet color with a soft tan head. holy molasses on the nose! that’s followed by metallic maltiness, cocoa, sweet dark dried fruit and a licorice-like numbing effect in the nostrils. the palate is quite sweet combined with malt, molasses, chocolate, alcohol, a bit of ashy char and smokiness on the finish. medium bodied and texture... seems a bit thin for the high level of sugars...

Bottle @ St. Albans BF. Mahogany with an off white head. Straight away coffee in the nose, roasted malts and subtle smokey note. Sweet coffee, malt and yeast flavours with smokey hints again. Syrupy palate. Quite pleasant.

bottled. close to black with a purple tinge and a thin but lasting off-white head. aroma of stewed prunes, pear schnapps, chocolate milk. the alcoholoisn’t disguised at all but there are enough interesting flavours to balance it out - fairy floss, anzac biscuits, toffee, rum butter

Bottle. .5cl Dark brown with a slight reddish hue. Forgive me if words seem cumbersome. There is a lot going on here. Slight nose of brandy. Taste is of brandy, buttery carmel, chocolate. Very sweet. High concentration of unfermentable sugars. A bit of an acidic bite. A bit nutty aroma. A little too much buttery sweetness, but I admire its complexity. Body was a bit thin. I would recommend.
