33cl bottle. Red brown colour with a thin tan film. Smokey liquorice nose with plenty of fruit and dark malt, slight spice and soy sauce. Flavour is pretty much as the nose except some extra roasty and coffee character especially at the finish. Served way too cold which was annoying but once warmed up it’s lovely. Thick creamy palate just adds to the experience. Not as good as the stronger version in my opinion but still very tasty. chmurarz (402), Raciborz now Legnica, Poland

Some light soy and caramel, with some underlying roasted malt notes. Sweet, but not too bad in the end. The finish has some length. paco (204), Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada

The alcohol is subdued, the body is full - I really enjoy this beer. harrisoni (6830), Ashford, Kent, England

Very dark ruby colour with bubbly dark beige head. Slightly buttery porter. Butter and some toasty aroma. Slightly sweet, slightly sticky in mouth, some charcoal towards the end. I like it. Bizarre, but flavoursome. 3.3/5.0
Re-rate bottle at Kent BF 07. Rich malts, liquorice, decent prickly hop on end. Very coffeeish. Beautiful coffee flavoured beer. Superb, slightly strong beer. Smooth and rather luscious. maeib (4762), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 29, 2006 Bottled. A black coloured beer with a very short-lived small beige coloured head. The aroma is rich with licquorice and fruity blackberries, together with alcohol and alittle fishiness. The taste has licquorice and charcoal. There is a small amount of fruit as well. Very thin for its strength and style, but nicely drinkable all the same. iep (229), Amsterdam, Netherlands

Sweet aroma, berry, chocolate, coffee. Crude, simple flavors. Sweet & slightly roasted maltines, a truckload of liqourice and a kilo-pack of brown sugar. Also some cherry and blueberry. A beer, or the first Porter-soda?
