Sep 11, 2009 Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear black with a reddish hue and a beige head. Hard roasted malt, tar and wood - appears very well matured. Solid burned malts and black licorice and again a woody and sweet edge. Subdued bitterness. Delicious. 130809

Aug 14, 2009 50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is solid roasted breadish malt with a distinct alcohol note. Solid liqourice roasted malt flavoured. Vague metallic and lingering sweet liqourice finish with a persisting roasted flavour.

Fruity aroma of caramel, rye bread and chocolate with notes of burnt sugar.
Light roasted flavour of caramel, chocolate and rye bread with metallic notes and notes of hops.
Roasted and hoppy finish.

Aug 23, 2009 Dark brown with a medium deep beige head. Sweet aroma with burned malt, dark bitter chocolate and coffee notes. Flavour was sweet with burned malt, coffee and dark bitter chocolate. Finished bitter. I like!

Apr 13, 2007 Updated: Aug 2, 2007500ml bottle at London Drinker BF 07. Very dark ruby colour with bubbly dark beige head. Slightly buttery porter. Butter and some toasty aroma. Slightly sweet, slightly sticky in mouth, some charcoal towards the end. I like it. Bizarre, but flavoursome. 3.3/5.0
Re-rate bottle at Kent BF 07. Rich malts, liquorice, decent prickly hop on end. Very coffeeish. Beautiful coffee flavoured beer. Superb, slightly strong beer. Smooth and rather luscious.

Oct 16, 2009 Bottle. Dark brown color. Clear. Caramel, walnuts and hazelnuts in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with toffee and walnuts. Hint of roast. Sweet but delicious. Walnut aftertaste. Sticky mouthfeel.

Jun 4, 2007 A Mes rate:
33cl bottle. Red brown colour with a thin tan film. Smokey liquorice nose with plenty of fruit and dark malt, slight spice and soy sauce. Flavour is pretty much as the nose except some extra roasty and coffee character especially at the finish. Served way too cold which was annoying but once warmed up it’s lovely. Thick creamy palate just adds to the experience. Not as good as the stronger version in my opinion but still very tasty.
