Black with brown edges and a small, frothy, tan head. Chocolate milk shake, roasty malt, and subtle dark fruit. Not much depth but very tasty. Smooth, medium body is just right for this one. Very good baltic, a bit underrated.

Coffee aroma, and nuts. Mocha head. Baltic style but really a blackened lager from this part of the world. Black but not opaque, with a good amount of head. Mollasses and suger, some ageing and tad of wood in the taste. A bit sweet, and very smooth.Worth trying.

Black/brown, slightly transparent with a limited head, that leaves a nice lace. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and sweet licorice. The flavour is sweetish with brief sweet coffee notes, then more roasted malt, licorice and the sweet coffee returns in the rather long finish. A bit too sweet for me.... 1871

Bottle from Systembolaget. Pours a dark brown with reasonable tan head that fades quickly. No stand-out aromas, but low levels of bitter chocolate and sweet fruit. I also got some banana (paw paw?). It’s way to sweet for me, with sickly sweet fruit, treacle and vanilla dominating an otherwise quite watery beer, which tastes flat and filtered. Minimal bitterness as expected while the alcohol dissappears in the sweetness. Overpoweringly sugary for me, making it all a bit of an effort to finish the glass.

Bottle. The BOSS pours a nearly opaque dark brown with an inch tall tan head that wouldn’t lace much. Thick dark choclatey aroma, very sweet. Strongly malty with a dark chocolate character with hints of roasted charred malts. A slight bitter finish on this medium bodied beer.

Bottle from the ever generous Degarth! - Thanks Joe! - Pours very dark brown with a slight creamy tan head that stays o.k. and laces a little.. Lots of raisin in the aroma some roasted qualities too, Flavor starts with much dark fruit upfront.. Mainly raisin, and a little plum. Lots of roasted notes follow and a little dark chocolate. Medium body and not much carbonation there but this is a solid brew throughout and one to seek out..

0.5 l bottle. Dark reddish black color with small tan head. Sweet and vinous aroma with salty licorice and black currant. Sweet and caramelly flavor with charcoal notes. Thick and soft palate with light carbonation. Sweet and warming finish with salty licorice and caramel. Tasty brew with a strong licorice note.

50 cl bottle. Red black ale with milk chocoalte head. Rather sweet, with manilla and molasses. Some roasted bitterness, too, but too sweet for my liking. Some warming alcohol in the finish.
