It pours jet black intimidation, goes down like molasses, hit’s you with a wicked 9.4 percent, then demands you thank it. Thank you Black Boss, may I have another?

500ml. color is dark brown black with ruby highlights. milk chocolate on the the nose with a mild lactic aroma, by that i mean a slight sourness is detected. sweet lightly roasted malt is also present. body is thinner than i anticipated but it does feel round on the tongue. the intermingling of chocolate and vanilla malt sweetness and mild sourness give it an almost barrel aged finish. a roasty malt flavor and mild but noticeable bitterness provide a fine conclusion. high alcohol goes unnoticed. reminds me more of a dopplebock but i see some porter elements to this brew.

Pours a dark black sludge. Aroma of molasses and alcohol. Heavy roasted malts of chocolate, coffee, bourbon, oak with slightly over the top sweetness.

Pours deep dark with hues of amber when held up to the light. Smells of bitter coffee, some milk chocolate, and a bit of roasted toffee. It has flavors of booze and coffee up front intermingled with sweet molasses and chocolate. As it warms, it seems to turn into a bit of a boozy mess and the sweetness becomes almost cloying. Finish is a bit dry and raosted.

500 ml bottle bought at Tres Bon Cuisine. Pours a dark black color with a thick beige head. The aroma is pretty nice; loads of toasted malts and lots of caramel. The flavor is a rich dose of caramel, chocolates, toasted flavors and some light fruit. Pretty nice.

500 ml. bottle. Pours a thin mocha head, over a dark brown (SRM 34-35) clear body....nose is molasses, chocolate, coffee. soy sauce....taste initially is beef bullion, soy sauce, then sweet malts, with layers of dried fruit (cherry, raisin) balanced by chocolate and a bit of coffee, finishing with roasted malt and mild hop bitterness....mouth feel is a little light and slightly watery, carbonation is medium. This is a fairly typical example of the style, with multiple layers of flavor and taste, and sweetness throughout. The light mouth feel was a bit off putting.

500ML bottle purchased at Liquor Barn in Redding, CA. The employees have been wanting me to try this one, so I did. At $2.49 I figured what the heck. I was nicely surprised, indeed! Aroma: oatmeal, dark chocolate. Color: appropriate for a Porter. Flavor: definitive special B malt flavor, with a toasty aftertaste. Palate: nutty, chocolate.

Dark black which should be no surprise. The first smell is liek Count Chocula cereal, I love it! Robust, chocoalte aroma. The flavor is sweet porter and so easy to drink. This beer was only $2.69 for a 500ml bottle and I feel like it was a complete steal. Fantastic porter from Poland. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 08-29-2009 04:47:20
