Dark, sweet and tasty. Went down fast and sat nicely in my belly. Has a high alcohol content, but wasen’t detectable. Now one of my favorite beers, and I highly recommend it for anyone who knows and loves good beer full of mighty goodness. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA

Nose is used coffee grounds, burnt sugar, and a mild nuttiness. Suprising flavor, considering the nose - dark chocolate, dark molasses, and a hazelnut note or two. Finish has a strange bitter, like a bitter cookie dough, if there is such a thing. Mildly dry. Body is a bit thin. Strange take on the style, but pretty tasty. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 4, 2006 Nice. Pours a deep brown body with red highlights that supports a creamy light brown head. Nice lacing. The aroma consists of coffee grounds, traces of chocolate, burnt dark brown sugar, and dried fruits. Very creamy mouthfeel. The flavor seems to have more milk chocolate, took on a dollop of mollases, maybe a nut or two, and adds some dark, sweet malt to the blend. This is a dangerous brew, going down way too easily without evidencing its hefty abv until long after it hits bottom. Again, Nice.

pours out a syrupy dark brown. Thick two finger head slowly recedes and leaves patchy lacing.
Aroma is sweet malts, molasses, caramel, chocolate, bubblegum.
Flavor is sweet, molasses, sugar, coffee. Borders on cloying at times but has just enough bitterness to keep it from going over that edge.
Picked up a little prune towards the end of the glass.
Alcohol was well hidden. KingpinIPA (842), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

It tastes like roasted coffee and chocolate with a nice bitterness at the end. This is a beer that I would drink again. BeerandBlues2 (3216), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
