| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 6, 2006 Really sweet porter, not particularly refined. Not much roasty or chocolately flavors, though I do taste a bit of wheatiness that I didnt expect. Tastes pretty alcoholic, even for a 9.5%. A little too thin of a body, but still an enjoyable beer. Not a great porter, but it does the job. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 3, 2006 Poured dark brown with ruby highlites and a light tan head. Aroma of bittersweet chocolate, some sweet coffee, whiskey. Flavor is very sweet with strong notes of coffee and Hershey’s syrup with just the slightest touch of whiskey dryness in the finish. Average body. Probably too sweet for some, but I thought it was rather pleasant, even if it was a little thin. bb (2930), Martinez, California, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 29, 2006 Dark fudgy brown with a crimson glow at the bottom. A small, big bubbly cap of tanned foam barely surfaces over the edge. Sporatic lacing in spots and tiny strings.
Aroma is dark and malty rich with a very assuming forward presense of molasses with favorable hints to dark fruits adding raisin, fig, and dates to the mix with a light coating of soured milk chocolate.
Taste shadows a nice reflection cast by the aroma with largely dark malt richness of molasses and the dark fruity stuff of raisins, dates, and figs. A bit thin in the middle. Finishes well with a brown sugar spiced alcoholic warmth with a smooth, slick little coating of tootsie roll chocolate. Semi tangy and darkly sweet for most of its ride until the finish were it turns to a nice chocolate candy thickness.
Medium thinned body with a subdued richness to it and silky slick and smoothly textured with very low carbonation. As it should be for a Baltic Porter.
A pretty solid brew and recommended. stefanberggren (135), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 27, 2006 WOW alcohol screams in an loud voice "I’m here" ! Dark mohogany color with a off-white tannish head. Licorice notes mingle with malt and a slightly astringent note (possibly alcohol) Great price, but I probably will not buy again. Palate; full nectar, smooth like silk. This is as the name implies. A sweet porter w/ bursting flavors and high alcohol (well hidden). It’ll keep you warm on a cold night when your girl has left you on the front porch to think about what you’ve done. Overall: a big malty style thats a little out of balance.
