Palate; full nectar, smooth like silk. This is as the name implies. A sweet porter w/ bursting flavors and high alcohol (well hidden). It’ll keep you warm on a cold night when your girl has left you on the front porch to think about what you’ve done. Overall: a big malty style thats a little out of balance. Flavor is sickeningly sweet and sugary, light coffee. The overabundant sweetness makes it seem flat. stouby (1955), Holbaek, Denmark

Dark brown with a light brown head. Aroma moderate malty (caramel, roasted). Flavor moderate to heavy sweet. Light to medium body, oily, soft carbonated (a thin body compared to the alcohol)! Dorwart (1829), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 12, 2006 Decent sized, dense head. Frothy on top. Reduces to a soap sudsy mess of bubbles. Low carbonation. Big licorice aroma with some roasted malts, sweet molasses and a hint of smoke. Color is a very dark brown/black. Sweet and smokey flavor. Lots of roasted grains and a good helping of coffee comes out at the finish. Thinner body than expected. Little sweet but not to bad. Little bit minerally and metallic. Finish is creamy and smooth with a little bitterness from the coffee. Decent but not a great baltic porter. bu11zeye (5621), Frisco, Texas, USA

Aroma of raisins, dustiness, and alcohol. Flavor of malt and dark fruits. A bit thin of a body for a baltic porter. mjg74 (2000), La Mesa, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 1, 2006 Bottled. Pours a dark amber color. Aroma is somewhat oily. Some roasted malts and chocolate are detectable. Flavor is sweet and rich. Lots of roated malts along with coffee and chocolate. Long, slightly sweet roasted coffee aftertaste. I can’t detect any alcohol. Good stuff. JohnnyOS (646), Golden, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 17, 2005 Did not detect a 7/8 level aroma (but I am getting over a cold). Dark, but not black color with a nice tan head that fades quickly.
Subtle blend of dark chocolate and vanilla flavors that linger, coupled with a port wine sweetness, finishing with with a touch of alcoholic.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Dec 3, 2005 Appropriate black color with a quickly diminishing tan head. What is left is a thin ring of creamy tan. Aroma is licorice, chocolate, vanilla, and bitter roast. The flavor is mellow to begin with and a nice tang to the finish. Body is a little lighter than I was looking for, but overall a very nice example of a baltic porter.
