Tasty, tasty dark beer. Very affordable for a college student and delivers a powerful punch. It is a must-taste beer. theyouthman (3), USA does not count | 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Oct 15, 2005 A fantastic beer and one worth coming back for. Nice aroma with a full, smooth flavor (just a slight chocolate) and the perfect acidity. cathcacr (588), Portland, Oregon, USA

Excellent balance between the sweet aspects and the lingering smokey bitterness. Not big or overwhelming in the flavor profile, but this is one example where that ’s not necessary to be excellent. Aroma is light, misty and sea-breezy in feel, in a category beyond chocolate and into fudge. Rich, creamy and smooth. Fits right in with what I love about this sub-style.

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 26, 2005 Deep, dark chestnut color (bordering on black) with ruby highlights, and a medium begie head. The aroma burst out with tons of licorice (I likes, I likes), sugar, molasses, cinnamon, and a fruity character (plums mainly.) The flavor was very sweet with molasses, licorice, coffee, milk chocolate, tart fruits, and a gentle earthiness. The feel was rather syrupy (nice!) and coating...wet finish. Wonderful porter! Why isn’t this a 100 percentile beer? keoki182 (305), West Bend, Wisconsin, USA

Flavor was more sweet goodness. My friend commented that "it tastes like someone poured caramel corn all over beer!". The facet of this porter that separated from other porters that I’ve had was the 9.4%. With such a finely made beer, the alcohol was wonderfully hidden. Wowie zowie is the best way to express my love of this beer. OD40oz (600), Box Elder, South Dakota, USA

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 12, 2009 Almost opaque black, copper hues on edges, with thick tan head. Sweet on the nose with roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Thick chewy mouthfeel.
Sweet and light at first, then roasted malt hits with a coffe bitterness that is obvious but very mellow and understated. A little sharpness of coffee leaves a nice aftertaste on the whole of the tongue. 9.4% is very well hidden. What a great porter. Ingevara (526), Hindås, Sweden

I feel at home right away. Creamy, chocolaty, intense, smooth, soothing, refreshing, there are many adjectives that come to mind. A rich - total drink. More!
