Davecooks (1150), Bay Area, California, USA Dec 2, 2004 Updated: Aug 11, 2005On tap at the Brew Pub (Before it closed). This was a my Fav B.D beer. Pours a nice light, clear amber. Carmel and malty aroma with a florally hoppy smell. Taste is just slightly bitter with a good malt backbone. More of an English style ale. JAF737300 (733), New York, New York, USA Jun 25, 2006 Overall a great beer with a burger on a hot day. Exceeded my expectations! bhensonb (3010), Woodland, California, USA Apr 16, 2007 Nutty malt aroma, along with some hop. Clear copper color with a frothy white head. It laces somewhat. Starts with some floral hop, quickly followed by marvelous malt. The combination results in a toffee/caramel aspect. Amazingly enough the finish is relatively dry. The result is something difficult to describe, but it is quite nice. Leaves a dry bitter in the mouth. Marvelous. mjg74 (1800), La Mesa, California, USA Jan 29, 2008 Bottle from BevMo online. Light amber in color upon pouring. Dry malty aroma with a slightly spicy English hop character. Very bitter English hoppiness. Dry bready malt finish. More like a hoppy ESB than a typical American amber. rkuhnel (1139), Eureka, California, USA Apr 22, 2008 From a 12 oz bottle that cost $1.39 at Corti Bros in Sacramento, this poured a nice amber with a nice off-white head and excellent lacing. Nose of caramel malts and light floral hops, medium mouthfeel, and flavor that was slightly sweet, and overall it was very easy to drink.
