Commercial Description:
Brown beer probably have the most diverse range of attributes of any beer style. In England, 2 variation exist; Southern and Northern, sometimes referred to as a mild ale and brown ale respectively. Our brown ale is in the American style generally separated from their English counterpart by an increased hoppiness and little or no diacetyl (buttery aroma/flavor).

I managed to get pretty much the last of this. Pours a dark brown with a bit of head which doesn’t last. Taste is mildly malty. Hops are present as well. Fairly uninspiring considering the other great beers that this place has offered in the past.

Growler from Brewpub: Brown pour with good clarity and a beige head/ring. Simple Brown Ale aroma. Roasted nut character with a touch of brown sugar. Body is slightly thin, but has a decent profile. Nice nutty malt presence, roasted character and a light caramel hint as well. Has a British hop dryness in the finish making sessionable. Not bad.

on tap at the brewpub. Brown with red highlights and a nice frothy head. Aroma of caramel/molasses, toasted malts, and a light herbal and floral hop presence. Taste is malty with caramel/molasses, a touch of dark fruit, with mild floral hops and a moderate hop bitterness for the style. Easy to drink with a medium body. Nothing too special, but solid and I enjoyed this much more than the average brown.

Sampler @ brewpub. Basic fine brown ale. Looks like one with a slightly sticky head. Basically, lightly sweet dark malts with a low hop presence. Easy drinking with just enough light sweetness to keep me interested.
