hophead75 (1623), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Nov 17, 2007 on tap at the brewpub. Hazy orange in color with a creamy, very long lasting white head. Aroma is quite nice with grapefruit, floral features, as well as orange/mango. Taste is highly hoppy with citrus, orange, wood/earthy hops. Very creamy dextrinous body with a really nice sweet malt backbone to back everything up. From mid palate to the finish it was quite bitter with pine. bitterness lasts well after the finish. Very good. JoeMcPhee (3632), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Nov 17, 2007 Growler shared by PilsnerPeter. Deep rich orange colour. Aroma is lovely, sweet orange hop aroma. Juicy mango, some light biscuity malt and a hint of caramel. Sweet palate, fairly rich and fruity with a creamy texture. A touch of toasted grain on the back. As it warms it become even more tropical and shows of touch of herbal/grassy flavour. Good balance and a tasty IPA. PilsnerPeter (1322), Flushing, New York, USA Nov 13, 2007 Deep hazy orange/amber color with ample, creamy tan head. Bright citrus aroma. Has some mild pine and a lemon cookie character. Very creamy body. The flavor has smooth citrusey hops. There’s a rich malt back supplying a solid body, and there’s plenty of hop presence to balance it and make it highly drinkable. Rich amarillos are evident, giving it a nice orangey flavor, along with a late grainy malt hint. The finish is long and mildly piney. Alcohol well hidden, very highly drinkable, and just a great IPA. I’m really enjoying this small microbrewery’s seasonals lately. goldtwins (3672), Nesconset, New York, USA Nov 8, 2007 Tap @ Black Forest. Poured a hazy amber color with an off-white head. The aroma is fairly hoppy with good citrus notes. Some light sweet malt underneath. The flavor has a decent amount of hops that really stand out. Nice citrus start. Toasty and nutty malt starts in big in the middle. The beer then finishes with a moderately bitter and very long pine and citrus hop. This one was pretty tasty.
