Wakie (612), Centreville, Virginia, USA Jul 25, 2007 Just another unexciting beer from what really turned out to be a very unexciting and uninspired brewpub. It is almost like their headbrewer learned how to make basic beers, and all he does is focus on cleanliness. Skip it.
Chapel (300), Levittown, New York, USA Aug 15, 2007 Pours dark brown like I expect an Oatmeal stout to. Really makes me want to drink it first on their sample tray. Little if no aroma to speak of. Has a very light coffee flavor which seems to come in two waves: one longer lasting and mild, one just at finish that is a little sweeter but fades almost as fast as you taste it. beastiefan2k (1181), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA Jul 26, 2007 Tap @ brewpub poured into a pint glass with a big, frothy, brown head accompanied by a totally black body. The head turns into a surface covering lacing, looks great! Aroma is dark fruits syrup with hints of past due tangerine sweetness, kind of weird. No roast, no chocolate, or any traditional oatmeal stout sweetness. Taste is a bit sweet and very fruity, esters filling the flavor. Some faint chocolate on the back end of the flavor. A bit of a metallic/mineral aspect. Thin body, finishes empty. Dickinsonbeer (2565), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Apr 10, 2005 Pours pure black with a very thin beige head. Aroma is coffee, roasted malts, chocolate, and toffee with hints of hops. Flavor is more hoppy than expected but finishes slightly harsh and astringent. Moderately smooth finish.
