Cask at keele postgrad bar. lovely stong vanilla type flavour. very easy to drink. tastes far weaker than 6%, which can be dangerous but also excellent. light but very pleasant aroma. a good/very good beer.

29th May 2008. ’Belgian Style Ale’ said the blurb. Hmmm. Really just a mildly hopped ale. Very easy drinking.

Cask conditioned at The Turf Tavern, Oxford. Pale gold with white head. Light and thin beer with quite a strong vanilla flavour and a little bit of a sicky note. Tart and syrupy with strong alcohol character. Grapfruit in the finish. Reasonable.

Cask@Nottingham Beer Festival 2007. Golden beer with a light aroma and a syrupy, rich, vinous and dry flavour. Overall an average beer that is quite strong.

Cask, Nottingham Fest 07. Golden with a small head. Aromas are sweet pear and apricot with some floral hops. Flavours are brown sugar and earthy pear with sweet citrus fruit. OK, but too sweet for me.

Cask gravity at Nottingham BF 2007. Gold with thin white head. Incredibly smooth. Doesn’t taste of 6%. Some nice citrusy fruits, some hop sting on end. Like Summer Lightning used to be. Good condition fruits are like pink grapefruit, very fleshy. Excellent.

Cask at Smithfest, Smithfield pub, Derby, 08-09-07 Poured a mid gold colour, with some floral notes on the aroma. Tasted honey sweet, but with floral flavour occasionally poking through, finishes bitter but sweetness is always present and sweeps over each mouthful. Whilst described as a wheat in the programme it didn’t instantly feel like one, but a good beer nonetheless.
