Commercial Description:
Bottled, Pasteurised.
An amber colored ale, Black Isle Red Kite is brewed using only the highest quality Maris Otter pale and crystal malts for flavor and body. Challenger hops for bittering with the late addition of Styrian Goldings creates a balance of quenching citrus and malt, and a classic aromatic finish to this refreshing ale. This beer is bright amber with a toasted nut flavor and powerful orange fruit aroma.

Live Rating. 22nd November 2009. Enjoying this beer now in a bottle at home. Pours slightly hazy amber with a thick pale brown head. A touch of nuttiness with toasted malt aromas in the beginning; citric hop ahd some dry bitterness late with quite a dry, bitter finish on a slightly textured and refreshing mouthfeel. A very good bottle.

22nd June 2008. Dark amber beer. Lovely sharp tangy floral fruitiness. Minerally with a sharp carbonated bite in the finish. A bit different from all the other Scottish beers tried today and refreshing.

Bottle. Pours a lightly red hued anber with a foamy cream colored head that leaves a thick ring of lacing. Aroma is lightly floral, sweet with some citrusy hop notes. Flavor is mildly bitter, but seems a bit watery. Foamy feel in the mouth.

Courtesy chzman. Dark amber. Off white head. Clean, floral, citrussy and moderately bitter hops on top of toasty malt. A bit yeasty on the finish. Medium/light body, moderate carbonation.

50cl Bottle brought from Scotland, thanks mom&Henk! ABV 4.2%. Light hazy amber orange colour, white head. Aroma of lemon and butterscotch, some candy sweetness. Flavour is light sweet, butterscotch, lemon, light dry bitter and light earthy/liquorice root finish. Very plain and straightforward. Light to medium bodied.

Bottle. Brownish/bronze beer with a strong head. The aroma is lightly roasted, hopped and caramel. The flavour is mildly dry, and roasted with a hopped finish. Overall an average beer.
