On draught at the brewpub, adjacent to the brewery in Cave Creek, AZ. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that leaves behind a thin ring and some film top. Aroma of dark roasted black malt, some flowery hops, a touch of chocolate and sour caramel. Taste is medium to full bodied, light carbonation with flavors of toasted dark malt and some hint of chocolate. Finish is slightly sweet with a toasted malt aftertaste.

12 oz. bottle my brother picked up at the brewery - Pours a dark brown color with a thin, light tan head. Aroma is light roasted malt. Flavor is also roasted malt. Light to medium body. A slight fizzy mouthfeel. A decent beer.

Aroma was burnt like the odor after burning wood. Little musty bar aroma. Black body with small tan head that was gone in seconds. Bitter bite at first but a sweet malt at the finish. Carmel aftertaste. Avilable in bottles at the Satisfied Frog in Cave Creek.

Bottle poured black with a small dissipating head. Sweet malt and caramel aroma with a roasy malt flavor, medium body and sweet finish...cool label. Thanks beer hunter!

Chocolatey color with smoked head. Sweet on the nose. Smoked wood flavoring. Their best.

The beer pours a deep brown to almost black with some ruby highlights, the head modest and somewhat creamy, the color a light tan and as it dissipates a nice clinging sheet of lace forms on the glass. The sweet aroma of toasted grain with a hint of caramel combines with the fresh crispness to make a pleasing to the senses nose, sweet malt laden start leads to a middling top. Finish is pleasantly acidic, hops are spicy but not overpowering and the semi-dry aftertaste is a pleasant ending to a quite nice middle of the road porter, and one I enjoy whenever I get a chance to get out to the “Satisfied Frog”, for a porter and a pulled pork sandwich, some real yummies for the tummy.
