Bottle courtesy of Hogtownharry: Poured a deep black color stout with a nice foamy head with some average retention and no lacing. Aroma of deep cacao with some very subtle non-sweet cherries. Taste is dominated by deep chocolate notes with some very subtle cherries and some nice bitter roasted malt notes at the end. Body is a bit light for the style with some medium carbonation. Interesting but missing a bit of character to take this to the other level.

Thanks Jason. The beer pours to a thin looking blackish brown body with no head. The aroma is dark chocolate and light cherries. The flavor is cocoa powder and cheap malt. Generic tartness. Flat powdery dry palate.

Bottle, thanks to HogTownHarry! Poured black with a short-lived cap of tan head. The aroma picked up tart cherry skins on top of darker chocolates with some flaked oats.. nice blend of components. The flavor wasn’t as good.. tart, artificially-sweetened cherries hit the tip of the tongue.. dark chocolates, cocoa, and oats at the core, but seemed to lack substance.. sour cherry juice above all else, with some dry oxidized notes at the end. This just wasn’t so good.

Bottled sample via gregclow. Black in colour with fairly strong carbonation. Aromas of roasted malt, chocolate, toffee, and mild fruit. Flavors of cherry woodsmoke, caramel, and light roasted malt. Medium bodied. I’d like a bit more body and a bit more malt, but this is a good attempt and quite drinkable.

12 oz bottle shared with toncatcher. Nice dark pour with decent tan head. Some Chocolate and cherry on the aromas. Smelled like weak cordial cherries. Flavor fell way off for me though. Flavors were still there, but just didn’t hit me the way the aromas did. Funny finish that didn’t really seem to belong to this beer.

[439-20070725] 355mL (c/o tuqueboy, w/ him, jerc). Super chocolate malt aroma. Clear dark black brown body with a long-lasting creamy tan head. Malt flavour is lightly sour or tart with some chocolate and cherry notes. Full body is a little watery. Annoying initial sourness fades nicely.

341ml Bottle. Pours black with a slight touch of dark red at the bottom of the glass, off white/tan head that diminished quickly. Aromas of roasty malt, coffee, chocolate, cherries. The cherries statrt to come out more in the taste along with notes of chocolate, coffee and slight roasted malt. Medium bodied, not quite as thick as I expected, more like a porter, and it ends with a nice sweet finish. A good sweet stout.

On tap at the Bow & Arrow True to the stout style, this beer was thick and dark and even the glass felt heavy! A nice aroma of chocolate and cherries, moreso the former than the latter. Upon tasting, the cherries come to the forefront over the chocolate. A tad sweet for my taste, but quite a complex beer, and another winner from this great brewer!
