Nicely bitter but not as hoppy as some of the better examples of the style. Toffee, some sweet earthy pine flavours with good balance. Crisp bitter finish. obisbeer (558), Barcelona, Spain

Medium to light mouthfeel with short finish. Light flavors of hops, and a faint nuttiness. Not bad session beer! pintbypint (1028), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 7, 2004 Cask at the Toronto Beer Festival 2004. So this was a special beer, they added lots more hops to it and it shows! It wasn’t overkill though, as it was quite well balanced with some nice malts. A solid APA from the solid Black Oak Brewery. piscator34 (1136), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 16, 2004 Citrusy-sweet and hoppy nose on this golden and copper beer. Lots of carbonation and bitterness. Definite hints or orange. It’s very much above average without being exceptional or unique. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jun 13, 2004 Decent hop nose. Light copper with white head that recedes to cover. Carbonation looks good. Some lace. Bitterness balances nicely with fresh malt flavour. Citrus-lemon undertones. Body is medium. Slightly syruppy. Could perhaps use higher carbonation. Simple, clean and well-brewed, this is an enjoyable, straight ahead version of a pale ale though by it’s well-balanced restraint, it seems more like an English Pale Ale regardless of American ingredients. Bottle. Thanks jercraigs.
