cask at c’est what mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 9, 2006 Cask. Foggy orange body with a small creamy white head. Creamy, cookie-ish aroma with strong orange hops and leafy notes. Raw grapefruit citrus hop flavour with underlying biscuit. Soft and chewy creamy palate. Quite drinkable. beergut111 (210), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 3, 2006 Cask at c’est what. This is the second cask beer I have tasted from Black Oak ( the other one ive tried was Hop Bomb). A really unique tasting and well balanced beer, my favorite of the festival. Radek Kliber (3926), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada Oct 2, 2006 Cask. Fine haze, medium large creamy top. Aroma was quiet grassy, fresh green grapes and grainy finish. Creamy texture, very soft body. Grassy hoppy middle. Light grainy (raw) finish. StompBrockmore (300), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 1, 2006 Cask at C’est What. Wow! Hops are upfront in the aroma and flavour, but are balanced just right. This was quite complex and very interesting flavour-wise, with a beautifully lingering finish. My favourite beer of the 18th Festival of Small Breweries in Toronto. Impressive stuff! DougShoemaker (2855), Toronto, Canada Oct 1, 2006 Cask.
Big fresh leafy hops aroma, opaque yellow, nice foam retaining head.Flavour of hops are front and center, though less than the nose, fine malt backbone too.Very creamy, really well balanced, bitterness is just right. Great Session Ale. Well done Adrian and Ken!
