Mar 28, 2004 Light, but pleasant aroma. Soft but full malt supported with decent amount of hops . Same goes to the flavour department . Slightly nutty effect followed with hoppy tone. Nice very drinkable ale.

Mar 26, 2004 I got this bottle from Mr Kimchee, who vowed that it was extra special and was tapped by "a real cool guy". His words exactly. It came in an unlabeled bottle. So I'll take his word for it. Clear amber with a short browned butter head. Roasty malt aroma with hints of maple. Lots of nutty roast and wood notes. Flavours carry a lot of burnt sugar bitters balancing with a medicinal hoppiness. Coffee comes and goes. Salty residuals. Finishes roasty and dry. I enjoyed it. Thanks Mr_K!

Mar 25, 2004 Dark copper colored with a small white head. Malty toasty aroma with hints of hops in the background. Malty with a hint of caramel and very slight toasty charachter. Nice fruity hoppy finish. Not bad at all.

Mar 11, 2004 Brilliant copper/orange with a quickly dissipating, dense, offwhite head. Aromas of dry cedar and citrus with undertones of candy sugar. Initial flavours of arrowroot, caramel and ripe plum followed by a floral hop prescence and a pronounced bitter finish. The finish gently lingers with some warming alcohol.

Mar 7, 2004 C'est What didn't have any pale ale left but they had this stuff instead and I'm not disappointed. looks good: a nice full copperish colour. the roasted malt aroma is quite pleasing and it follows through. super malty flavour that is nicely balanced with a fairly strong bitter finish.

Mar 5, 2004 (Bottle) Many thanks to Jercraigs for sending this little extra in my care-package. Pours a medium, almond head and a deep copper body. Nose is like grapefruit and fruit salad. Flavour is more caramel malt, cask and slight hoppiness. Good!

Mar 3, 2004 Clear, bright copper colour with a small off-white head. Full, fresh aroma of toasty malt and aromatic hops. Body is light and refreshing, with a strong hop bitterness well balanced by a caramel malt background. Damn good.

Feb 25, 2004 Malt, hops, and a nuttiness in the aroma, copper, small toffee head, good lace as well. Pronounced hoppy flavour, malt undertones, a nutty, woody quality, hints of caramel. Well balanced, wonderful mouthfeel, fine bitter finish. Fabulous, hats off to Ken Woods!
