Commercial Description:
Bottle; Pasteurised.
"Beers for bottling are drawn from brewery conditioning tanks and transported by road tanker to our bottlers. There they are chilled, stored for ten days, then filtered and bottled. At the end of the bottling process, the bottles are pasteurised, labelled and packed."
"Brewed with many generous handfuls of choice Golding hops, it is full flavoured ale with a rich fruit nose. The bittersweet malty taste is followed by an uncompromising long, dry and bitter finish. This beer was the first, most successful, of all of our bottled beers."

Come on now? What is this? I wanted to give Black Sheep a try and I ended up with a less-than-desirable product. I have to admit this is not as offensive as many English ales (e.g. Fuller’s garbage ales), but I will not be re-buying this--especially considering this was pretty expensive for 1 pint 0.9? ounces. I’m going to be more serious about avoiding anything that resembles an English ale for now on. To England: you are terrible at producing beer! Please stop sending your garbage to your friends across the pond.

Pours from bottle golden honey color with copper tint.. Thought beer would be thick and black. Thick foamy head that stays till mid through. A strong swallow and taste stay on upper palate and down throat. Bottle finishes quick a good drinking ale.

Golden honey color with a nice thick creamy head. Aroma is fresh hops, hay and clover. Flavor is wonderful, crisp fresh hops, malts, herbs. Buttery mouthfeel. I like this a lot.

500ml bottle. Dark amber with a medium white cap of foam. Looks dense and well carbonated. Aromas of salt and vegemite and a burnt bitterness. Nice bitter taste that clings to all corners of the mouth. Long aftertaste and very drinkable.

50cl bottle as shown. Deep amber colour, fluffy medium off-white head. Sweetish aroma of orchard fruit and bready malt with traces of hops. Lower carbonation, thin, watery mouthfeel. Grassy hops are prominently featured taste-wise, with some fruit for balance. Crisp, stinging (but not overpowering) bitter finish and after taste. A straight-arrow bitter with little depth to the taste, but should go well with spicy food.
