Commercial Description:
Bottle; Pasteurised.
"Beers for bottling are drawn from brewery conditioning tanks and transported by road tanker to our bottlers. There they are chilled, stored for ten days, then filtered and bottled. At the end of the bottling process, the bottles are pasteurised, labelled and packed."
"Brewed with many generous handfuls of choice Golding hops, it is full flavoured ale with a rich fruit nose. The bittersweet malty taste is followed by an uncompromising long, dry and bitter finish. This beer was the first, most successful, of all of our bottled beers."

500 ml bottle from Liquid Solutions. Aroma of malt, caramel, maybe nuts, and that wonderful fruity floral hop of the English bitters. Nice amber color with an off-white head that laced and stayed. Thin to medium bodied, near creamy carbonation. The flavor starts with floral hop, quickly followed by biscuit and caramel malt. The finish is malty, but not all that sweet, fruity, and bitter. In the end it’s dry and bitter. Wonderful stuff.

poured a cloudy amber color with almost no head that dissipates to nothing but a ring that lingers along the wall of the glass. starts off with lots of carbonation and ends with a few bubble trails here and there. great aroma of hops, fruit maybe apricot or apple, toffee, caramel, and i think a kind of nut. mouth feel is nothing special almost like water and in the end it disappoints with an okay start of flavor that transitions into somewhat but not very bitter hops and gets drowned out by a very strong water taste. if i wanted water i would have bought a lager. sad.

500 ml bottle. Light brown colour. Tall off-white head that clings to the glass. Nutty Northern Brewer-like aroma. Some sweet malts and some roasted malts. Nicely balanced. Crisp hop flavours with a solid hop bitterness that lingers a while. Medium-bodied and a little oily on the tongue. Nice bitter.

watery and acidy is what i get. there has been a bit of fruit (punch) and licorice added in -for whatever purpose-. there is a decent carbonation and the flavors offer a degree of complexity. the palate is a bit slick and somewhat refreshing. not bad and not memorable. yes there is a sweetish and typical english type nutty albiet watery taste in there.

Amber coloured with aroma of caramel, various fruit, and toffee, maybe licourice? Quite a bitter and dry aftertaste. Quite a tasty bitter. Far from my favourite though.

Pours with a nice thick and sudsy head with large bubbles throughout. Copper colored. Not much perfume: a mild aroma with hints of hop. However, the flavors are more assertive. A complex blend of fruity and bitter flavors, with the bitterness winning in the end. An apple-like, almost squash like nuttiness more apparent at the beginning is balanced by the hops at the end. A fun, perky palate. Overall, a supremely pleasant ale. I feel this one is underrated by Ratebeerians because of the general preference here for bigger beers.
