Adry bitter beer and the taste of malrs and hops makes it a fine good beer. Also a complex taste patrick767 (2033), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 16, 2007 bottle - Pours a dark copper color with a large head that quickly fades to thin. English malts and mild hops dominate the aroma. Caramel malts and mild hops hold up the flavor of this ale that starts too watery, but as expected improves as it warms. It’s lightly carbonated and has a dry, moderately bitter finish. Pretty good ale. garthicus (1290), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 28, 2007 A very nice ale, if not fantastic. Appearance was hard to gauge due to its coming in a brown (but rather pretty) bottle. Aroma is malty with a whisper of sweetness, very inviting. Taste has some surprising hoppiness and a little bitterness, but is still malty with smoky undertones. This is a pleasant ale worth enjoying and savoring, rather than chugging at a party or sipping with dinner. tarjei (1753), Bryne, Norway
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 28, 2007 Bottle 0,5 l. Dark amber, nice off-white head. Fruit and flowers, sweet bitterness. A bit to thin, otherwise this would be a winner. GG (1640), NorCal, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 27, 2007 I gotta say that as far as ESB’s go, this one is right up there. A nice caramel sweet nose, with nothing done overboard. Appearance is a cloudy amber color. Flavors were carmel with an interesting hop attack that smooths everything out. Easy drinking for sure, and it beats the pants off the other stuff made from these guys. Not bad!
