Commercial Description:
Bottle; Pasteurised.
"Beers for bottling are drawn from brewery conditioning tanks and transported by road tanker to our bottlers. There they are chilled, stored for ten days, then filtered and bottled. At the end of the bottling process, the bottles are pasteurised, labelled and packed."
"Brewed with many generous handfuls of choice Golding hops, it is full flavoured ale with a rich fruit nose. The bittersweet malty taste is followed by an uncompromising long, dry and bitter finish. This beer was the first, most successful, of all of our bottled beers."

Amber colour with hints of orange in the aroma. Medium level of bitterness front and finish. Was quite refreshing.

500ml bottle from Sainsbury’s, Holborn. Golden brown body under white, quickly disappearing foam. Aroma of hoppy bitterness. Flavour has got a sweet malty and burnt grainy character offset by a dry bitter ending. Alright, but not distinctive (sampled 01.02.2007).

Bottle. Hazy, orangey amber with a big rocky head. Grassy hops aroma with sweet fruitiness. Bitter hops flavours meeting fruity malts, but not sure if it is a happy marriage. In the end bitterness prevails, leaving a dry mouthfeel. Mixed feelings.

(Bottle) Pours a dark amber with a beige looking head. Dry and slightly bitter. Some roasted malts in there as well. It’s all right, but nothing really stands out in this beer.

Smoother and far less bitter than other pale ales I’ve tried. I like its dry finish. But I’m not tasting the bitterness that Black Sheep and others are claiming.

bottle: pours a nice golden orange with thick white fluffy head. aroma is slightly sour fruit and bitterhop. no sweetness in the nose. flavour is very watery but finishes with nice bitterness. a very drinkable bitter but not the best.
