Commercial Description:
Bottle; Pasteurised.
"Beers for bottling are drawn from brewery conditioning tanks and transported by road tanker to our bottlers. There they are chilled, stored for ten days, then filtered and bottled. At the end of the bottling process, the bottles are pasteurised, labelled and packed."
"Brewed with many generous handfuls of choice Golding hops, it is full flavoured ale with a rich fruit nose. The bittersweet malty taste is followed by an uncompromising long, dry and bitter finish. This beer was the first, most successful, of all of our bottled beers."

Amber colour. Smelled fruity but not nice. Was too bland and dry. Was quite bitter. Not the worst but not a beer I’ll be having again.

Bottle shared with funkybrewster. Pours a clear orange amber with a small but full white frothy head. Aroma is quite sweet for a bitter, rich, some definite fruitiness, buttery with a slight sour note, a little bit of skunk also. Flavor leads with butter followed by generous amount of bitter hops ending on a sharp sweetness. The bitterness is fairly metallic. Medium bodied with a lighter mouth-feel, very sharp even carbonation that is a bit off-putting, finishes extremely thin.

Thanks 17thfloor! Pours a deep golden orange color with a small white fizzy head. Aroma is nice fruity, a mix of light fruits, grapes, pears that are balanced be a very bready malt base. A floral hop character also adds some spiciness. Flavor starts with a sweet fruit character, with a nice grassy and floral hop note that immediately bitters and balances. Some darker fruits also present themselves, a bit of raisin. Finishes with a strong bitterness that remains pleasant and asks the drinker to take another sip. Medium body and a softer carbonation. I like the balance of this bittersweet beer.

Pours amber with a large fizzy offwhite head, fast diminishing. Nose is malt, caramel. Taste is sweetish, with notes of roasted malt, spice, raisin, and bread. A nice bitter.

Location: .5 liter bottle from Gilly’s, 7/14/09

Aroma: Fruity, roasty malts, caramel, light hops
Appearance: Clear orange-amber color, light tan head
Flavor: Smooth roasted malts, grassy/bitter hop finish
Palate: Dry and smooth, lightish body
Overall Impression: This beer was tasty, could have been better, but I enjoyed it enough. A little pricey for what it is, at least where I got it.

Best before April 2006. This poured a cloudy copper/amber colour with a light tan foamy head. Sorry, lacing not found here. Aroma was quite a bit coffee, and the taste was also of coffee but on a reduced scale. Nice beer, but all the coffee seemed odd for an ESB.

Nice caraml orange with a big rocky off white foam and small bits of lacing. Aroma is big and grassy, spicy, bready malt. Taste is the same with fruity esters, spicy and grassy hops, some caramel, toffee, bready malt.

Bottle. Pours orange with a medium white head. Aroma and flavour is bready malt, fruit and caramel. Medium bodied. Malty and bitter finish. An enjoyable bitter.
