Commercial Description:
Bottle; Pasteurised.
"Beers for bottling are drawn from brewery conditioning tanks and transported by road tanker to our bottlers. There they are chilled, stored for ten days, then filtered and bottled. At the end of the bottling process, the bottles are pasteurised, labelled and packed."
"Brewed with many generous handfuls of choice Golding hops, it is full flavoured ale with a rich fruit nose. The bittersweet malty taste is followed by an uncompromising long, dry and bitter finish. This beer was the first, most successful, of all of our bottled beers."

This, to me, is the prototypical British Bitter. An exemplary example of the style. Copper, cool and quaffable. Great lacing in the head, a refreshing aroma of fresh-mown hay and a balanced blend of hop spiciness and malty fullness. Buy a pint now!

Interesting very heavy bottle 1 pt .9 oz bottle. Very heavy! Seems darker than usual, but i suppose if it’s thicker, then it would be darker.... Cloudy orangish amber. Very thick head creamy off white. Thick lacing with a extra strip of lace at the top. Strange very dry grain smell NOT sweet. Cant’ quite pinpoint the smell, [spice of some sort] not unpleasant, but not like any pale ale I’ve had before. Mouth-feel is somewhat thin and light, with some hoppy back bitterness. That smell is present at the back flavors but still unidentifiable. Since I haven’t had much [recently anyways] exposure to an *English* pale ale, this might be more *spot* on, but at the moment, its a little different. Drinkable, ale that I’ll have to try again. [ as is usual with most liquor stores i go to, this one might be old, and been overly warmed up]

Served at room temp out of the bottle. Redish copper color with a big white head. I really enjoyed this beer and could have had many of them. A creamy malty body that is carbonated to perfection. Great bitter finish that warms the body.

[Bottled at East End Brewery, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong] Brownish amber, clear, firm head. Pleasant mangoish hop aroma. Dryish with clean mouthfeel Pleasant biscuity malt flavour. The moutfheel is short and quickly replaced by grassy bitterness with a touch of sulphur. Unadventurous, but well crafted.

Bready, oaty aroma. Appearance is like that of bourbon only with an extremely small white line (read: head). Taste is noticeably malty with a light hop kick finish.

Beer pours light apricot color with a somewhat retained, off white colored head that laces. Aroma is rather pedistrian with some subltle biscuit malt, a sweet aroma, and a faint hint of hops. Flavor is all about boring. A very mild malt flavor. The finish is mildly hoppy and dry. This is, I suppose, what bitters are about. I guess, I am not a huge fan of the style.

Huge rocky fluffy head. Nice light red copper color with thin sticky lacing. I had a tough time pinning this taste. It was fruity but not in a berry way. A bit crisper... perhaps an apple or something more along those lines. A good hop balance with yeasty undertones and some thin malt taste. Very hoppy bitter palate. Very dry and strong finish. This is a good beer. I’ll pick this one up again.
