I used to think they all pretty much tasted the same... and I still think that for the most part, but I think it is due to the lack of diversity in style more than the beers themselves. This is pretty good but not one of my favorites... drinkable but I will pass next time. Gethinbeer (1006), Nova Scotia, Canada

Black Sheep has a great appearance, deep clear copper colour which keeps its real ale head. The intial aroma is of hops. The oxydation of the beer is perfect I feel, It is easy to drink with a slight wheaty taste. However leaves a strong bitter after taste. Overall I feel this beer is very good, easy to drink with taste. chilehead (186), Laguna Niguel, California, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 3, 2006 Bottle, 500ml. A clear amber coloured-pour with a nice creamy lasting head. Aromas of citrus, grass and other fruits. Quite a hoppy taste with a somewhat bitter hoppy finish. Light to medium bodied, a little watery in the finish but not overly so. Light carbonation. A nice refreshing beer. Lilith (242), Santiago, Chile

The head was small, white with a good lacing and film. Its aroma was sweet, softly hoppy with notes of caramel, grain, citrus, apple and some bubblegum. The aftertaste is bitter and refreshing with a siroupy texture. It’s light bodied, soft carbonation.

Aroma is strong and fresh with notes of apple, caramel, plums, pineapple and orange peel. Good amount of hops and very low malt profile.
Flavor starts bitter with some cider sourness. It devolps well in the mouth letting the hops show some more bitternes towards the end. Dry and refreshing.
Slightly watery mouthfeel with some high carbonation. Essentially simple with a short finish that leaves a soft aftertaste. Non-present alcohol and extremely easy-to-drink ale.
Is it really a ESB? For me it’s an amber ale with a hoppy character.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 23, 2006 500ml bottle pours cloudy light amber with a short offwhite creamy head that fades back to a film and laces pretty well from there down. Aromas of caramel, toffee, and some floral hops. Flavor is lots of caramel and toffee with a floral/citrus bitter finish. Palate is medium bodied and fairly well carbonated. A little on the watery side but not overly so. Very drinkable and I’m supposing would make a good session in England. Price prohibits that here...
