Commercial Description:
Available filtered and pasteurised in 500ml bottles.
"Beers for bottling are drawn from brewery conditioning tanks and transported by road tanker to our bottlers. There they are chilled, stored for ten days, then filtered and bottled. At the end of the bottling process, the bottles are pasteurised, labelled and packed."
"Distinctive balance between the flavours of fruity Golding variety hops, Maris Otter malted barley and demerara sugar. Strong and refreshingly long, dry and bitter finish."

Spicy, floral hops over strong fruity esters in the aroma. Clear amber-copper with generous and lasting, creamy, white head that leaves some patchwork lacing. Sweet, fruity flavour with plenty of toasted and caramel malt, moderate finishing bitterness and earthy, almost roasty burnt aftertaste. Medium body with pointy carbonation. Somewhat metallic in the mouth. Bottle.

Bottle. Dark golden with a bubbly head. Malt, cardboard and earth flavor notes. Nicely bitter finish. Can only echo Chris-o’s words about the pasteurised and "dead" feel to this beer.

500ml bottle. Dark copper colour, thin whitish head. Some green apple, also flavour of burnt toast (don’t know where that comes from) with lots of bitterness and flowery hops towards the end. Some caramel and sweetness but I can’t get past that burnt toast flavour. OK but not Black Sheep’s best

Suprizingly good for tesco, bottled ales. Apperance is better than expected with good lacing, aroma and taste are both reasonably sweet, and found the alcohol noticeable too. alround not to bad, go for it again if theres nothign else.

Pours dark amber with a small head. Lots of lacing. Slightly musky aroma, Spicy, sweet and hoppy taste. A bit watery. ESBs are not my favourite style, but this is okay to me.

Amber/copper colour. Fruity and quite heavily hopped, leading to a spicy, tangy character. But its also distinctly sweet and has a sort of stewed, sticky feel that grates a bit and compromises the balance. Plus it has the telltale metallic edge of a pasteurised beer. OK, but could be better. 500ml bottle from Tesco.

(Bottle 50 cl) Amber-coloured, slightly hazy beer with a rather massive head that laces my glass. A rather disharmonic blend of aromas with a very bitter finish. A quite special ESB. 121204

(Bottle) Cloudy and not very pretty in the glass. (Love it in the bottle though; What a cute label!) Aroma as well as the flavor are quite special. It smells of spices, alcohold and hops in a peculiar way. And it tastes a bit odd, but not bad. Michael thinks it has a good freshness. Dry palate. Not bad.
